What is the light on the transmitter?

The status light on the transmitter lets you know if the transmitter is turned on. On the MB-1, the status light also lets you know the status of the transmitter battery. If the light is red, the battery needs to be charged. See Owner’s Guide for additional information. Note: The green light may be steady green or blinking green. This depends on the frequency setting of the transmitter.

How do I increase and decrease the signal range (the distance the signal radiates from the transmitter) to make the “off-limits” avoidance zone area larger or smaller?

On the back of the transmitter, there is a signal range knob. Turn the knob toward the ‘+’ to increase the signal range. This increases the size of the signal field. Turn the knob toward the ‘-’ to decrease the signal range. This decreases the size of the signal field.

Do I need separate collars for inside and outside?

You do not need separate collars. Use the same collar inside and outside.

How large can I make the “off-limits” area?

The MB-1 can be adjusted up to a maximum of 8 feet in diameter (4 feet in all directions from the transmitter.) Important: Do not set the transmitter on or near large metal objects.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is such an excellent company. The staff are amazing. Our dog fence has been cut by street people, gardeners, and AT&T, and DogWatch was able to fix it every single time. Our fence has probably been nicked in seven different spots and they fixed it for a very affordable price every single time and they were fantastic to deal with. 100% would buy again. They also came five days early.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn't have contacte a better business to help with my issue. Lucky for them to be local to me, Very polite, very familiar with how to track down a cut in my underground fence. Made it easy for me, always will be my top call. I use Petfinder and not this product but they assist with repairs to a limit. Cost was right on target

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Repairing a Break in the circuit causing the fence to stop working. The service was quick and he also identified the cause of the break. He fixed the issue with the line crossing the concrete so that future problems with the undue wearing in the fence line wouldn’t arise.

You Asked, We Answered

DogWatch Indoor Pet Fences emit a radio signal that is detected by the receiver collar worn by your pet—the same way the outdoor hidden fence systems work. As your pet approaches the signal field (initially marked with a series of flags to help your pet identify the area), the receiver collar begins to emit an audible (or vibration) warning beep. If your pet goes beyond the warning zone, the warning is quickly followed by a ‘correction’— a mild electrical stimulation from the receiver collar. With proper training, your pet will quickly learn to stay away from areas that he associates with the warning.

The battery life of the MB-1 is determined, in part, by the rate setting and the range setting you select. The rate setting determines how frequently the signal is transmitted (fast, medium or slow.) The range setting is the distance the signal radiates from the transmitter. (See Owner’s Guide for additional information.)

When set at maximum range, the life of the battery charge is approximately:

4 days in ‘Fast’
7 days in ‘Medium’
30 days in ‘Slow’

Decreasing the range setting will increase the average battery life between charges.
